Nominee in the Office Production Category at the 14th Rigips Trophy
Li-Cycle is a global leader in the recovery of resources from lithium-ion batteries. The Spoke plant in Osterweddingen, Germany, with a building size of around 10,000 m², is the largest in the company's portfolio. Originally designed as a pure logistics hall, the building stood empty for around 1.5 years after completion. TAB Trocken-Aus-Bau GmbH was tasked with developing a construction for the industrial building that was light enough to be built on an existing intermediate ceiling, while also accommodating all sanitary facilities installations. All requirements for moisture protection also had to be met. Ultimately, an RigiRaum solution from RIGIPS was installed. This self-supporting room-in-room system was the only option for construction on the existing ceilings and was designed for the changing rooms for employees on the first floor. The substructure was built using standard and C5-coated profiles, and was clad with moisture-resistant Glasroc X and Die Harte boards from Rigips. Rigips VARIO and VARIO H joint fillers were used for the finishing touches.
