Rigips Glasroc X for fully protected external walls
This means that every exterior wall is protected!
The exterior wall is a building's functional component that separates the outdoor space from the indoor space. At the same time, it fulfils a special function for the entire building envelope by providing protection against weather, noise and fire.
Gypsum has long played a significant role in exterior wall design. From now on, it takes centre stage. RIGIPS offers safe and system-tested solutions for exterior walls with the proven fleece-reinforced gypsum board Rigips Glasroc X.
A true all-rounder with a variety of system advantages
Rigips Glasroc X is a fleece-reinforced gypsum board designed for constructing high-quality wood and drywall structures in damp and wet rooms, as well as exterior ceilings and walls.
Moisture and mould resistance
• Fleece-reinforced gypsum board
• Up to three months of exposure to weather
Safe in the system
• Applications in damp rooms up to W3-I
• Exterior ceilings and walls with corrosion-protected profiles
• Exterior wall constructions in wood and drywall
• Fire protection according to DIN EN 13501-1 as a non-combustible building material of class A1
Quick, dust-free and easy to install
• Installation with standard drywall tools (scoring & breaking)
Perfect for renovations: Rigips Glasroc X with metal stud framework
Metal stud walls with exterior cladding made of Rigips Glasroc X are the perfect solution for renovating or renewing infill boards in skeleton structures.
Drywall constructions with Rigips Glasroc X are suitable for non-load-bearing exterior walls according to § 28 (2) MBO. These can be implemented with corrosion-protected wall profiles in two construction variants with exterior ETICS and optional interior installation layers.
Advantages of lightweight construction:
• Customised solutions for every renovation project
• Low weight due to drywall construction
• No exceeding of boundary distances to adjacent properties
• The Rigips Glasroc X joint tape provides immediate weather protection without drying times
System variants of non-load-bearing exterior walls with metal stud framework
1. Rigips Glasroc X as a carrier board for ETICS in the basic variant
In the basic variant of exterior wall construction, Rigips Glasroc X is applied externally to the corrosion-protected Rigips wall profiles. The wall profiles were previously attached to the adjacent solid components, including the Rigips Glasroc X connection seal. The board joints are sealed wind- and waterproof with Rigips Glasroc X joint tape, and the connection joints are sealed with Rigips Glasroc X connection tape. This prepares the exterior wall for the application of the ETICS system and ensures weather resistance for up to three months. When selecting the exterior ETICS, it should be noted that Rigips Glasroc X is listed as an approved substrate in the system verification. Internally, the drywall construction is completed with the gypsum board Rigips Die Harte.
2. Rigips Glasroc X as a carrier board for ETICS with an additional installation layer
In exterior wall constructions, each component layer fulfills a specific task. By cladding the additional interior installation layer, further technical requirements such as sound insulation, load attachment, and surface hardness can be met.
For timber construction with a system: Rigips Glasroc X with timber framework
The moisture-resistant gypsum board Rigips Glasroc X is the first choice for exterior wall constructions in timber construction – both in traditional timber construction and in the field of industrial prefabrication.
Advantages of timber construction:
• ETA-21/0179 for use as a load-bearing and bracing sheathing in timber construction
• Very high dimensional stability, reliable carrier for plaster systems
• Boards can be either stapled or screwed
• The Rigips Glasroc X joint tape provides immediate weather protection without drying times
System variants of load-bearing exterior walls with timber framework
1. Rigips Glasroc X as a high-quality directly plastered board
This timber board construction exterior wall is based on an interior gypsum fiberboard Rigidur H combined with a Vario climate membrane.
On the exterior, the Glasroc X is directly fixed to the timber framework. The board joints are sealed wind- and waterproof with Glasroc X joint tape.
This allows the wall to withstand weather conditions for several months even without a plaster layer.
Afterwards, various plaster options are available for the Glasroc X.
The plaster takes over the function of permanent, full-fledged weather protection in the long term and protects the construction permanently.
2. Rigips Glasroc X as a directly plastered board with timber substructure
This exterior wall, constructed from timber boards, is based on an interior gypsum fibreboard (Rigidur H) combined with a climate membrane.
On the exterior, the Glasroc X is fixed to a timber substructure.
The axis spacing of the timber substructure allows the Glasroc X exterior wall to be statically adapted to the wind loads to be absorbed.
The board joints are sealed wind- and waterproof with Glasroc X joint tape.
This allows the wall to withstand weather conditions for several months even without a plaster layer. Afterwards, various plaster layer options are available for the Glasroc X.
3. Rigips Glasroc X as a carrier board for ETICS
This timber board construction exterior wall is based on a mineral ETICS.
The lamellas are glued to the Glasroc X on the exterior; the carrier material can be exposed to weather conditions for several months beforehand, providing flexibility in the construction process.
The board joints are wind- and waterproof sealed with Glasroc X joint tape. A high-quality, textured plaster has been chosen for the topcoat. This, when combined with the biocide-free AquaBalance technology, ensures that the exterior wall remains beautiful and functional for years to come.

Rigips® Glasroc® X - Outdoor Stele
As is well known, Rigips Glasroc X can withstand temporary exposure to weather conditions, making it suitable for indoor and outdoor applications.
To illustrate this special feature, we are exhibiting an outdoor display stand at selected retailers' outdoor areas. The stand consists of a metal frame enclosing a Rigips Glasroc X board.
The graphic at the top of the stand displays the installation date. This indicates how long the stand has been exposed to the weather.
<= In our 'Making of - Video' (left column), you can see how the stand was manufactured.
