Then, by combining building materials made of wood and gypsum, you can enjoy all the benefits. The combination of these two natural materials, which are beneficial to both human well-being and the environment, is remarkable. The positive properties of wood for construction and of gypsum fibreboards for surfacing complement each other perfectly.

Whether it's a single-family or two-family house, large multi-story buildings, or extensions and densifications in urban centers – Rigidur gypsum fiberboards meet all structural requirements and individual demands in timber construction:

  • High static properties – certified as effective bracing cladding
  • Robust, modern drywall solution with high surface quality
  • Optimal space utilization and flexibility thanks to high stability and strength
  • Universally applicable for fire and soundproof constructions or moisture-resistant solutions
  • Maximum healthy living environment through natural, vapor-permeable materials with high water vapor adsorption capacity

Statics and structural stability
Design of wall boards according to Eurocode 5: the Rigidur H gypsum fibreboard has been approved under ETA 08/0147 for use as load-bearing and bracing cladding in timber constructions. This approval also covers the properties of the boards required for design purposes.

Earthquake-resistant construction with Rigips
Due to its construction method, timber construction is particularly well-suited to earthquake-resistant buildings. Rigips boards have been certified by the General Building Approval Z-9.1-898 for use in absorbing earthquake loads, even in the highest earthquake zone 3.

Healthy building material
Rigidur H gypsum fiberboards are made of natural gypsum and recycled paper fibers for reinforcement and are free of adhesives and binders. The independent Institute for Building Biology Rosenheim GmbH (IBR) has tested and evaluated them for pollutants and environmental compatibility, awarding them the seal of approval as a healthy building material. Additionally, Rigidur H gypsum fiberboards have been included in the "Building Directory for Healthier Buildings" and documented with the Sentinel House logo.

For a comfortable indoor climate
Rigidur gypsum fibreboards absorb excess moisture from rooms such as bathrooms and kitchens, releasing it into the dry air over time. This proven property of water vapour adsorption is comparable to that of clay plasters, which are renowned for their moisture-balancing properties.

Thermal insulation for comfort and energy savings
Modern thermal insulation combines thermal insulation with heat storage capacity. While modern insulation materials contribute to thermal insulation, Rigidur gypsum fibreboards provide temperature-balancing heat storage capacity due to their high mass.

Built-in fire protection for timber buildings
Rigidur gypsum fiberboards are classified as "non-combustible" according to DIN EN 13501-1. They effectively protect the building's structure from fires that can be caused by carelessness or technical defects inside the building. The water chemically bound within the gypsum crystals is released when the material is exposed to intense heat, which cools the entire structure and prevents the spread of fire. Rigidur H can be used to create wall, ceiling and roof constructions in timber with tested fire protection properties. The structural implementation according to technical building regulations is easily possible with Rigidur H 18.

Sound insulation inside and outside
The comparatively high weight of the stable Rigidur gypsum fiberboards, in combination with modern insulation materials, ensures high sound insulation for both interior and exterior walls. Rigidur screed elements provide high impact sound insulation through optional cladding.

Very smooth surfaces for optimal design options
The extremely smooth and closed surface of Rigidur gypsum fiberboards, without protruding fibers or sanding marks, is ideal for subsequent coatings without further surface treatments. Paints can be applied, and old wallpapers can be easily removed. Robust walls that can take a beating: Rigidur gypsum fiberboards have a high surface hardness and are therefore resistant to mechanical stresses in everyday life, such as impacts and scratches.

Heavy loads can be easily secured
Walls built with Rigidur gypsum fiberboards are extremely stable. Loads can be securely and easily fastened to them. Cabinets, shelves, or even flat-screen TVs can be easily screwed to the wall using coarse-thread screws, eliminating the need for elaborate drilling.
