Rigips Sound Insulation Calculator

Based on DIN 4109

The Rigips Sound Insulation Calculator is a program that can be used to calculate or predict the airborne and impact sound insulation between two rooms during horizontal and vertical sound transmission, as well as the transmission of external noise through the roof surface. The sound insulation calculator is particularly user-friendly and largely self-explanatory.

With it, you can easily calculate the rated building sound insulation value R’w or the rated standard sound level difference DnT,w of Rigips partition walls, as well as the rated normalised impact sound level L’n,w of ceilings in timber or solid construction. Additionally, in the wall area, the influence of openings in the building component can be represented. In the roof area, based on the external noise level La in combination with the room requirements KRaumart, the required R`w,ges can be determined.

After selecting the requirement procedure, the requirements for sound insulation of walls or ceilings, req. R’w or req. L’n,w, are automatically displayed and compared with the calculation result.

The calculation of sound insulation is based on the calculation methods presented in DIN 4109-2:2018-01, using the component data listed in parts 32, 33, 34, and 35. The basis is the European calculation model of DIN EN 12354, which has been incorporated into the German soundproofing standard DIN 4109. The individual sound transmission paths (especially via the adjoining components) are recorded more precisely than in the previous method.

However, compared to the previous method, this means increased computational effort, which you can handle quickly, transparently, and comprehensibly with the Rigips Sound Insulation Calculator.

Every transmission path involved in sound transmission is detailed in our soundproofing calculator. This allows the contribution of each transmission path or individual component to the overall sound transmission to be determined. During the planning stage, weak points in sound transmission can be identified and avoided. Furthermore, the calculation of individual transmission paths enables the planning and dimensioning of improvement measures regarding soundproofing.

This program, our soundproofing calculator for drywall construction, has been carefully developed, and the product data has been compiled with equal care. However, SAINT-GOBAIN RIGIPS GMBH is not liable for any damages resulting from the use of the program. In particular, any liability for damages (e.g., faulty planning) caused by the use of calculation results or data or information from the program is excluded. The exclusion of liability does not apply to damages resulting from injury to life, body, and health, as well as damages caused by intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty by RIGIPS or by an intentional or grossly negligent breach of duty by a legal representative or vicarious agent of RIGIPS.
