The right drywall for every requirement: Ideas and information

Drywall walls are flexible, space-efficient, and durable. They also allow for individual planning. Their short construction times make them particularly economical.

Metal stud walls are ideal, for example, when large rooms in apartments or smaller areas need to be divided. They can be quickly and easily constructed with or without doors. Metal stud walls consist of steel sheet profiles that form the so-called stud framework and are later clad with drywall boards accordingly.

Instructions - installing & spackling drywall boards /gypsum boards for any drywall wall

No walls, no house: Walls create living and working spaces, protect property and shield against views, the cold, noise and heat, and provide effective fire protection. However, building a wall is not straightforward – we’ll show you how to save time and money with gypsum boards.

Proven: drywall with gypsum boards

Gypsum boards in drywall construction have proven their worth for the uncomplicated and effective construction of interior walls in public and commercial buildings, as well as residential homes. This material allows you to meet planning requirements and individual needs while ensuring functionality, design freedom, cost-effectiveness, durability, safety, comfort and sustainability.

Walls with Rigips drywall boards: a model for DIN standards

Drywall construction using gypsum boards has been covered by DIN regulations since 1969, meeting the respective fire, thermal and sound insulation standards. Rigips was primarily responsible for establishing these standards, which remain valid and are continuously developed to this day. The name Rigips has since become synonymous with all gypsum boards.

Innovations as a guarantee for success

In addition, regular innovations in both individual products and entire systems contribute to our success. One popular and award-winning product is our particularly robust Rigips Habito board. It is reinforced with fibres and contains a polymer-gypsum crystal composite. These properties guarantee maximum robustness and a high load-bearing capacity, even without anchors.

Furthermore, Rigips walls can easily be painted or wallpapered. This lightweight gypsum interior wall enables robust, customisable construction, even in damp rooms, and provides sound insulation and burglary resistance.

  • Facing shell: If old, uneven, or crooked walls need to be straightened and beautified, a facing shell with drywall boards is often the simplest solution. By cladding the wall with gypsum boards, you can often even improve sound insulation and thermal insulation.
  • Additionally, there are many other applications where gypsum drywall boards significantly improve workflows and aesthetic construction methods.

Long-standing favourites for several years include the fire-resistant, glass fibre-reinforced speciality gypsum boards Glasroc F (formerly Ridurit), the dry-formable version of this board for room design Glasroc F (formerly Riflex), and the load-bearing gypsum fibre boards Rigidur H for economical timber frame and prefab construction.

Special wall designs for specific requirements

In addition to flat standard boards, solutions are available for every need, including curved constructions and special damp room designs with load-bearing frames for sanitary equipment. Drywall boards: special requirements in wet rooms

Wet rooms pose special requirements for materials and processing in drywall construction. This applies to private bathrooms and utility rooms, laboratories and medical treatment rooms, as well as commercial kitchens in restaurants and cafeterias, and shower areas in sports facilities of all kinds.

For these different areas of application, we offer tested system solutions with impregnated construction and fire protection boards, Rigips Glasroc X, and the associated components, providing a high level of safety for you as a planner, architect, contractor, builder, or owner.

In principle, the planning of wet and damp rooms distinguishes between low, moderate, and high to very high levels of stress. The classification of rooms or components into the corresponding water impact class is based on DIN 18534.
