Nominee in the Office Production category at the 14th Rigips Trophy
The sun rising from the ground symbolises the building, which was designed by architect Hadi Teherani. Known as the Innovation Arch, it forms the gateway to the Augsburg Innovation Park, which comprises high-class research facilities and around 100 companies. The 147-metre-long office building is 34.5 metres wide and offers around 15,000 square metres of rental space. The rooftop terraces alone span 605 m² and are distributed across the floors. The building's roof is covered in 150 different types of grass and herbs. Its façade is made entirely of recycled aluminium, a unique feature worldwide. The client's primary goal was to complete the interior construction in the shortest possible time while ensuring maximum cost efficiency. The construction team's tasks included dividing the total area into individual rental spaces encompassing private offices, open-plan workstations and meeting rooms. The offices were designed according to the tenants' requirements and received enhanced soundproofing where necessary. Another challenge was the implementation of the complex fire protection concept and detailed solutions. Among other things, F 90 + M firewalls in drywall construction were installed between the individual rental units and connected to the façade in compliance with fire protection regulations. Additional services provided by the construction professionals from Gersthofen included installing flush-mounted skirting boards, flexible ceiling connections and ceiling aprons.
