Rigidur Wall & Ceiling
Walls and ceilings made of gypsum fiberboards you can rely on
For drywall constructions with particularly high loads and requirements, RIGIPS offers various intelligent solutions for comprehensive room design with Rigidur H gypsum fiberboards.
Rigidur H gypsum fiberboards are used in the construction of walls and ceilings, making them particularly suitable for timber construction and providing a clever and high-quality alternative to OSB boards. Rigidur H combines a variety of different advantages that come into play in every construction.
Advantages of Rigidur H gypsum fiberboards
- Stable
Practically no other drywall material is as stable as Rigidur. Public buildings, in particular, require an extremely high level of stability. With Rigidur, loads such as shelves or cabinets can be easily mounted directly on walls. - Flexible, even in formats
After determining the room height during planning, the resulting measurement of the required board length often does not match the standard dimensions offered. With Rigidur gypsum fiberboards, this is not a problem: we provide custom dimensions for board lengths (room height) as a service. - XXL formats: more surface, fewer joints
More and more customers are taking advantage of the option to minimize joint processing effort by using large board formats. Rigidur gypsum fiberboards are produced up to a size of 2.5 x 6.0 m and are precisely tailored to customer specifications. - Smooth (Q3 quality):
Rigidur offers an extremely smooth and closed surface - without protruding fibers or sanding marks. This makes them ideal for high-quality coatings. - Hard
Rigidur H gypsum fiberboards have an extremely hard surface (Brinell hardness approx. 35 N/mm²) and are therefore resistant to everyday mechanical stresses such as impacts and scratches. - Reliable fire protection
Rigidur H gypsum fiberboards are tested according to DIN standards and classified as "non-combustible, building material class A2." This allows for safe and economical fire protection constructions ranging from F 30 (single-layer cladding) to F 90 (double-layer cladding).
Under intense heat exposure, the chemically bound water in the gypsum crystal is released, cooling the entire construction and thus preventing the spread of fires. - High sound insulation
The comparatively high weight of the stable Rigidur H gypsum fiberboards has a very positive effect on sound insulation.
In combination with mineral wool insulation, the soundproofing values of standard constructions are significantly higher than those of solid building materials with comparable wall thickness or gypsum board walls.
- Healthy living
Rigidur H gypsum fiberboards are made from natural gypsum and paper fibers from recycled materials. Their building biology safety has been confirmed in several tests by the Institute for Building Biology Rosenheim (IBR). Furthermore, they are included in the list for healthy building in the SENTINEL HAUS portal. For example, walls made exclusively from Rigidur H gypsum fiberboards show practically no detectable formaldehyde in the indoor air – unlike some wood-based products.

Rigips Compact: Alternative to OSB – Load Fastening with Rigidur H Gypsum Fiberboards
When robust walls in drywall construction also need to meet the requirement of easy load fastening, wood-based panels are often used (e.g., OSB boards or chipboards). These are integrated into the drywall construction to ensure direct load fastening to the wall by screwing without the need for plugs or drilling. Since this type of execution can lead to problems in practice, we sharpen your focus on the material-related impacts in this edition of Rigips Compact and present our reliable alternative:
Drywall, paneled with Rigidur H gypsum fiberboards in the first layer and Rigips construction boards in the second layer
The combination of metal and gypsum offers maximum safety. Both gypsum boards react similarly to environmental conditions.
The Reliable Solution: Rigidur® H
The Rigidur H gypsum fiberboard in the first layer ensures anchoring for screws or plugs. It fulfills its purpose similarly to an OSB or chipboard. But that's not all, as the Rigidur H offers additional advantages:
1. Better soundproofing effect due to higher surface weight
2. Non-combustible
3. Quickly available in building material trade
4. Reduced susceptibility to cracks in the overall construction, thanks to the use of similar gypsum-based building products
