RigiRoom®

Freestanding room modules with system by RIGIPS

Wherever the division of large spaces is required, planners look for quick, efficient, and economical solutions in the form of self-supporting room cells.

Such solutions are often needed in existing buildings, as well as in new constructions. RigiRaum solutions are particularly advantageous in existing buildings due to their low weight, as they repurpose existing structures for new uses, thereby contributing to sustainability.

RigiRaum by RIGIPS offers versatile solutions for the creative design of modern, functional spaces and usage units using the well-known drywall construction method.

This process can incorporate various requirements, such as sound or fire protection.

RigiRaum solutions from RIGIPS consist of standard components, including Rigips profiles, gypsum boards, joint fillers and other Rigips accessories. These are readily available at short notice.

Advantages:

  • Quick assembly
  • Lightweight construction
  • Sustainable application in existing buildings
  • Flexible for diverse uses
  • Made from standard Rigips components

Room-in-room solutions offer versatile applications

RigiRaum constructions are ideal for spaces where large areas alone are insufficient. Large industrial, production, storage or logistics halls require additional space for offices, laboratories, meeting rooms or other areas where quiet, separate work is required.

The need to create extra space also frequently arises in museums, showrooms and exhibition spaces.

  • Division of floor areas with high ceilings
  • Integration as room partitions in exhibition spaces or large reception halls
  • Creation of storage or rest areas or sanitary cells in large halls such as airports
  • Installation of offices, such as supervisor offices, meeting rooms, or control stations in industrial areas like commercial or factory halls
  • Enclosure of electrical systems or machines for sound insulation in production facilities

RigiRaum® solutions: versatile, stable, and secure

RigiRaum constructions are created using proven drywall methods with well-known wall and ceiling system components from RIGIPS:

  • The foundation is a stable, self-supporting overall system
  • Walkability or the addition of extra (static) loads is possible
  • Walls and ceilings have high impact resistance to absorb collision loads
  • Optimal room division for different usage requirements
  • Creation of privacy (e.g., individual offices, meeting rooms, or private spaces)
  • Thematic separation of specific areas
  • Acoustic decoupling from the overall space

RigiRaum systems can be freely placed to ensure the safety requirements of users:

  • Escape and rescue routes remain clear
  • Fire resistance requirements for room-dividing components are met by choosing the right systems
  • Safety zones can be easily planned
  • Fire protection is ensured

The stable room cells can easily be expanded or dismantled as required. Their versatile surface designs and simple glazing installation make them active elements of high-quality, aesthetic interior design. They guarantee maximum cost-effectiveness and flexibility.

Substructure of a RigiRaum® solution

Image
Unterkonstruktion einer RigiRaum®-Lösung

The RigiRaum system is constructed using standard Rigips products. The basic framework consists of drywall boards arranged at right angles to each other, which are stabilized in the room corners and, depending on the dimensions of the RigiRaum, by XL supports. These XL supports are made of back-to-back Rigips UA 75 reinforcement profiles.

On these XL supports and the infill walls, there is a continuous beam with outward-facing Rigips UA profiles.
The ceiling structure is attached to this beam, which can be designed either as a long-span ceiling or as a self-supporting ceiling.

The standard components for the substructure made of Rigips profiles and accessories, as well as our extensive range of profile technology, can be found below.
