All the advantages of Rigips Habito
The arguments of the drywall board at a glance
Rigips Habito is a revolutionary solid drywall board that significantly outperforms conventional interior construction methods in many respects, enabling maximum flexibility in interior design. It features a special core with fibre reinforcement and a polymer-gypsum crystal composite, providing numerous advantages...
Simple load fastening with Rigips Habito
The drywall board offers unconventional possibilities for load attachment without dowels and drills
Securing heavy loads to the solid drywall board has never been easier: standard screwdrivers and screws are all you need.
The pull-out strength of up to 30 kg for single-layer cladding and 60 kg for double-layer cladding per screw speaks for itself.
Simply screw loads to the ceiling
When used as ceiling cladding, Rigips Habito can easily support loads of up to 6 kg per square metre at any desired location. Alternatively, suitable cavity dowels can be used in accordance with DIN 18181.
Traverse included
For the solid drywall board Rigips Habito, the attachment of heavy loads at any wall location is easily and reliably achievable without regard to the substructure – without pre-drilling, without dowels, and without additional installed traverses.
Drywall walls with the solid drywall board Rigips Habito can support cantilever loads in accordance with DIN 18183-1 of up to 1.5 kN/m ≈ 150 kg/m without additional traverses. This enables monitors, media supply rails or cabinets to be mounted flexibly at any desired location. This is confirmed by the official applicability certificate for construction from the Material Testing Institute (MPA) in Braunschweig (General Building Inspection Certificate P-1101/856/18-MPA BS).

Economic efficiency with Rigips Habito
The drywall board is as solid as stone, just without the weight
Build massive yet slim walls. A wish of many people that finally comes true thanks to Rigips Habito. The innovative residential drywall board enables modern drywall constructions that are superior to conventional building methods in many ways:
Weight optimization
Walls with Rigips Habito lead to a weight reduction of up to 70% compared to traditional solid construction methods. This means structural advantages for extensions and additions:
- work more easily
- reduced loads
- build more flexibly
The weight comparison:
Short construction time
Thanks to drywall construction, weeks of drying times, as is common in solid construction, are eliminated:
- less moisture
- shorter construction phases
- move in faster
The drying time comparison:
Less mass, more class
Rigips Habito reduces wall thickness by up to 25% compared to conventionally built walls, such as those made of brickwork. This results in more floor space, which is beneficial when renting or selling the property:
- build slimmer
- more space
- higher returns
The wall thickness comparison:
Innovative drywall constructions compared to conventionally built walls create more floor space, which pays off in the rental/sale of real estate.
Example calculation
- Wall thickness: 100 mm Habito wall instead of 130 mm solid wall = 3 cm difference.
- For a 60 m² apartment, the additional floor space is approximately 0.75 m².
- For a property with 50 apartments, this corresponds to approximately 38 m² more space.
- At a selling price of €6,500 per m², the added value amounts to nearly €250,000.

Robustness with Rigips Habito
Tough and durable - the drywall board is more solid than any plaster surface
The robust surface of the solid drywall board Rigips Habito is significantly more resistant than a conventional plaster surface and can easily withstand impacts and blows. As a solid drywall board, Rigips Habito emphasises its mechanical strength not only through burglary resistance, even in standard constructions – the board's compressive strength also provides walls with high impact resistance.

High sound insulation with Rigips Habito
The drywall board with better sound insulation than solid walls
Noticeably better sound insulation
The sound insulation performance of a drywall with Rigips Habito is significantly better than that of conventional solid walls:
• Difference of up to 25 dB between solid building materials compared to Rigips Habito
• Rule of thumb: if the sound insulation value increases by 8 dB, it corresponds to halving the perceived volume

Certified fire protection with Rigips Habito
The drywall board is non-combustible and corresponds to building material class A2-s1, d0 according to DIN EN 13501-1.
Rigips Habito walls offer tested fire protection constructions in F 30 and F 90, combined with the possibility of simple load fastening without, for example, wooden reinforcements in the wall.
Risks with mixed constructions made of gypsum boards and wood-based materials:
- Lack of fire protection for the drywall (no valid proof of applicability)
- Planning and installation of mixed constructions do not comply with the regulated construction method for metal stud walls according to DIN 18183
- In the event of a fire, the large-scale installation of combustible board products can lead to premature failure of the construction

Sustainability with Rigips Habito
Building responsibly for future generations with the drywall board
Sustainable? Of course!
Gypsum is one of the oldest and at the same time most modern natural building materials with a variety of advantages:
- Free of pollutants and odour-neutral
- Energy-efficient thanks to extremely low thermal conductivity
- Naturally regulates indoor humidity and ensures a healthy and pleasant indoor climate
Valuable for people and the environment
Through our RiCycling concept, we are committed to sustainability by recycling gypsum material from demolition sites or construction sites. We reintroduce this valuable raw material into our production process to create new products. The first recycling plant of its kind was opened in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) for this purpose in 2017. This helps us to conserve valuable resources.

Rigips Kompakt: burglary-resistant walls in RC2 and RC3 by RIGIPS - burglary protection without steel sheets
"The home is inviolable," as stated in Article 13 of the Basic Law of the Federal Republic of Germany. However, burglars repeatedly target not only homes, but also public and private spaces. In order to keep these unwelcome visitors at bay, preventive burglary protection measures are particularly important. In addition to technical surveillance or deterrent equipment, the construction of the building itself can contribute to burglary resistance. With constructions built using the robust drywall board Rigips Habito, the resistance class RC 3, which is advisable for apartment partition walls, can be reliably achieved. Furthermore, installing this high-quality system does not require expensive, complex-to-install steel sheets.
Burglar protection is also necessary
for many other objects in classes RC2 or RC3, such as...
- Banks and savings institutions
- Military security facilities
- Server rooms
- Public buildings like citizen service offices
- Registration offices, etc.
- Shopping centres in the partition walls between stores
With Rigips Habito, you are always on the safe side, as the Rigips system EW12HA has been tested according to the European standard for burglary resistance of building components (EN 1627) for its resistance to burglary attempts. The RC 2 class was reliably achieved without additional protective measures, and even the RC 3 class was demonstrated with halved stud spacing. Additional measures, such as steel sheet inserts or combinations with solid building materials, are not necessary.

Rigips Kompakt: Fire protection and load fastening even for high walls with Rigips® Habito®
A central topic in modern drywall constructions is the creation of high walls that simultaneously allow for high load fastening. Until now, these were only possible to a limited extent according to the relevant drywall standards DIN 18183-1 and DIN 4103-1, as increased cantilever loads had to be introduced into a drywall wall using additional aids, such as crossbeams.
