Special Award for Surfaces at the 14th Rigips Trophy
For over 70 years, Porsche has been synonymous with the production of sports cars to the highest standard. A new central meeting point for Porsche enthusiasts has been created at the Altötting location, with the expansion carried out by Veicht Trockenbau GmbH from Untergriesbach. Experiential modules on various themed worlds were created for the sports car community, along with spaces for communication and inspiration, as well as digital experiences with hands-on stories. The meeting point comprises a 1,950 m² showroom and a 1,450 m² workshop. The new building consists of reinforced concrete with steel components mounted on top. All load-bearing concrete parts had to be fully integrated into the drywall construction, making them 'invisible'. The cubes in the showroom were designed to appear as if they were 'floating' on the steel supports. All surfaces had to be finished to the highest standard (Q4). The light-filled showroom posed a particular challenge in this respect. All joints and connections had to maintain perfect dimensions. Even during the initial layout of the partition walls and cubes, consideration had to be given to the alignment of the façade, future tiling and furniture to avoid tolerances with adjacent components, such as façade supports. The transition from the showroom to the workshop is impressive, featuring the integration of a T90 sliding door between two opposing shells. The door's inspection opening was designed as a shadow gap. Custom-made brackets were required to bridge the lintel area and support the total height of the facing shells, which exceeded seven metres.
