Winner in the Ceiling Solutions Category at the 14th Rigips Trophy
The new Music Academy in Staufen was built to provide spaces for performances, rehearsals and seminars, as well as accommodation for students and seminar participants. The ceilings and walls of the rehearsal and performance rooms had to meet the highest acoustic standards. The project's primary challenge lay in its complexity. In particular, achieving the right balance of sound absorption and reflection presented a significant challenge to the interior specialists from Günter Nagel Bauleistungsservice GmbH, based in Teningen, Baden-Württemberg. Perfect conditions had to be created for the installation of numerous curtain rails, acoustic elements, access openings and ventilation ducts, among other things. During the construction of the substructures, various room heights had to be considered to ensure the systems met the specified acoustic room concept. Particular focus was given to soundproofing requirements for partition walls and ceilings, as well as structural demands on room acoustics and associated ceiling weight. Additionally, the Rigips Rigitone Activ‘ Air boards required precise measurement for an optimal visual appearance and interplay between ceiling and wall surfaces. Using Rigips Rigitone Activ‘ Air enabled Günter Nagel Bauleistungsservice GmbH to meet all the requirements and ensure excellent acoustic quality in the rooms. To enhance soundproofing in the area of room partitions, the interior specialists installed the robust Rigips Die Harte boards.
