Lindner Congress Hotel Suites, Düsseldorf

As part of an expansion, the Lindner Congress Hotel in Düsseldorf has received a 19th floor. It houses a bar and lounge, as well as two premium suites offering approximately 70 and 90 square metres of usable space respectively. The new roof is made of a curved steel structure. Following its contours, a modern curved climate ceiling was constructed inside. As it could not be attached directly to the trapezoidal sheet roof, a wide-span beam structure was first placed between the steel beams and the ceiling was then suspended from this. Prefabricated rounded RIGIPS Ceiling-C-Profiles were suspended to form a framework to which the actual climate ceiling profiles were attached. In order to fit the thermally conductive Rigips Climafit casing boards into the required curvature, they were moistened prior to installation and then shaped overnight using models that matched the ceiling radius. Integrating additional ventilation rails, open shadow gaps at the edge and suspension points for curtain rails and lamps presented further challenges for the drywall company. Additionally, the steel structure of the new floor, particularly in the transition area between the existing 18th floor and the newly added 19th floor, was clad with special fire protection boards to reliably eliminate the risk of fire spreading. Meanwhile, the rooms on the 18th floor were completely renovated and brought up to modern standards using contemporary drywall systems.
