Josefinum Clinic, Augsburg

TM Ausbau GmbH was responsible for the interior construction of the child and adolescent psychiatry department at the newly built Josefinum Clinic in Augsburg. They implemented a variety of high-performance drywall constructions for the project. The project required the company to meet stringent fire and sound insulation standards, as well as develop solutions for the specific challenges posed by the hospital building's high installation density. Many wall surfaces, for example, were created using particularly robust Rigidur gypsum fibreboards with an additional steel sheet insert. These ensure a correspondingly high impact resistance and excel at efficiently transferring the heat generated by the surface heating systems installed behind them. Numerous steel beams were also clad with Rigips Glasroc F fire protection boards and many special solutions were developed for fire protection. The ceiling surfaces in the corridors and the nurse’s station were designed as suspended acoustic ceilings. A particular challenge here was the need to partially integrate ventilation systems. Through custom components and an adapted substructure, an appropriate ventilation cove was created. Furthermore, solutions were developed for specific wall taperings in the façade connection area to ensure effective sound insulation, among other things.
