Third Place in the Drywall Category at the 13th Rigips Trophy

Baierl & Demmelhuber was commissioned to execute and implement the complete technical and planning aspects of the architectural design for the revitalisation of the Congress Centre at Messe Frankfurt. The new wall design, which spans three floors and covers both the entrance hall and the presentation areas of the Congress Centre, demonstrates exceptional drywall craftsmanship. Consisting of folding elements up to 18 metres high, the wall connects the entrances to conference rooms, open spaces and technical areas, including air extraction shafts and smoke screens, to create a harmonious whole. The distinctive geometry of the foldable wall, equipped with LED light points, lends the space its characteristic aesthetic, while simultaneously creating pleasant room acoustics. From the outset, the builder emphasised one clearly defined and central requirement: perfect surfaces! Accordingly, Baierl & Demmelhuber’s finishing team executed the surface finish with great care. Even the slightest imperfection would have been immediately apparent under the local lighting conditions due to the streak lighting.
