Joint fillers and finishing compounds

Powder & Paste

In modern drywall construction, the demand for high-quality surfaces is constantly increasing, to the extent that flawless execution has become the calling card of the drywall installer. Today, surfaces are mostly finished to quality level Q3 or higher, whereas just a few years ago, Q2 was sufficient. To keep up with this market trend, it is essential to acquire extensive knowledge of proper joint filling techniques, joint execution and connection methods, and how to achieve the perfect finish.

Rigips filling products are available in a variety of packaging sizes and types. Powder products are available in bags and sacks, while paste-like or ready-mixed compounds are available in buckets.

RIGIPS powder products

Rigips VARIO joint filler

Highly polymer-modified material (gypsum) according to DIN EN 13963 / Type 4B. Packaging: 25 kg and 5 kg

Processing the Rigips VARIO system enables joints to be filled in wall and ceiling areas without the need for reinforcing strips. This method requires Rigips boards with VARIO long edges (HRAK) and VARIO short edges (either factory-made or made on site using a Rigips VARIO edge planer).

  • Suitable for all board edges
  • Quality levels from Q1 to Q4
  • Wall and ceiling joints up to Filigran ceiling joints
  • Very good adhesion
  • Very high joint strength
  • Extremely low shrinkage
  • Easy to apply
  • Especially economical in the VARIO system

Rigips VARIO 30

The Rigips VARIO system enables joints to be filled without the need for reinforcing strips in wall and ceiling areas. To do this, Rigips boards must be processed with a VARIO long edge (HRAK) and a VARIO short edge (either factory-made or made on site using a Rigips VARIO edge planer).

  • Suitable for all board edges
  • Quality levels from Q1 to Q4
  • Wall and ceiling joints up to Filigran ceiling joints
  • Very good adhesion
  • Very high joint strength
  • Extremely low shrinkage
  • Easy to apply

Rigips VARIO impregnated

Green, hydrophobic and highly polymer-modified material (gypsum) according to DIN EN 13963 / Type 4B. Packaging: 5 kg

VARIO impregnated is used for filling joints and making connections on impregnated (green) boards. These boards are hydrophobic, meaning water absorption is limited.

Using VARIO impregnated achieves an almost uniform hydrophobicity across the entire surface. Depending on the formation of the joints, VARIO impregnated is processed with or without Rigips reinforcing strips.

  • Suitable for all impregnated boards and edges
  • Q1 to Q4 possible
  • Very good adhesion
  • Very high joint strength (with/without Rigips reinforcing strips)
  • Especially safe in the VARIO system
  • Extremely low shrinkage
  • Easy to apply

Rigips SUPER joint filler

Polymer-modified material (gypsum) according to DIN EN 13963 / Type 3B. Packaging: 25 kg and 5 kg

The Rigips SUPER system is used with boards featuring AK (tapered), HRK (half-round) and beveled HRK cut edges, as well as VARIO (HRAK) edges. All of these can be processed using SUPER joint filler and Rigips glass fibre reinforcing strips in wall and ceiling areas.

  • For wall and ceiling use
  • Suitable for all gypsum board edges
  • Quality levels from Q1 to Q4
  • Very good adhesion
  • High joint strength with
  • Rigips glass fibre reinforcing strips
  • Low shrinkage
  • Very easy to sand
  • Smooth application
