Climate-friendly construction with RiDuce
RIGIPS presents CO2-reduced system profiles for greater sustainability in drywall construction
Drywall specialist RIGIPS now offers a climate-friendly profile range called RiDuce, which significantly improves the CO₂ balance of its drywall systems. RiDuce profiles are made from CO₂-reduced steel, resulting in a CO₂ footprint that is more than 70 per cent lower*. This is evidenced by a newly issued Environmental Product Declaration (EPD). Increased sustainability is founded on the use of 100 per cent renewable energy sources and a proven high proportion of 75 per cent recycled scrap metal. RiDuce metal profiles can be used in all Rigips systems without restriction and are of the same quality as conventionally produced profiles.

Made from CO2-reduced steel, the profiles have a CO2 footprint that is more than 70 per cent lower than that of a profile made from conventional steel sheet produced in the same facility and using the same process. RiDuce profiles are available as both wall and ceiling profiles, featuring the user-friendly MultiTec structure. Another advantage in terms of sustainability and handling: the RiDuce profiles can be ordered in project-specific fixed lengths. This helps to avoid waste and offcuts while significantly reducing installation effort. Since RiDuce is produced in Germany, it also ensures short and therefore sustainable delivery routes. The CO2-reduced profiles can be identified by their distinctive green strapping band and printed RiDuce logo.

Metal profiles are essential for constructing drywall systems. They facilitate stable constructions and are available in a variety of lengths and designs. They also play a significant role in the physical performance of the systems. The non-combustible profiles are also resistant to moisture and climatic influences, easy to install and almost entirely recyclable. With their optimised CO₂ balance, the new RiDuce profiles also play an important role in conserving resources and protecting the climate.
Usable in all Rigips systems
The climate-friendly Rigips RiDuce profiles, which are made from CO₂-reduced steel, reduce the CO2 footprint during construction by more than 70 per cent*. These non-combustible profiles, which are made from galvanised steel sheet, can be used without restriction in all Rigips systems and are produced on a project-specific basis. In terms of quality and performance values, they are identical to conventionally produced profiles.
The key factor in producing climate-friendly profiles is the way steel is produced. Conventional steel production is associated with significant CO₂ emissions, caused by a chemical process in the blast furnace. Around 1.7 tonnes of CO₂ are emitted for every tonne of crude steel produced.
Renewable energy and recycled scrap metal – certified EPD
RiDuce profiles are manufactured using an innovative process involving environmentally friendly, CO2-reduced steel, where 100 per cent renewable energy sources and a high proportion of 75 per cent recycled scrap metal are used. A certified EPD, created according to the latest standards, serves as proof of the reduced CO2 footprint and high level of sustainability. “Corresponding EPDs are also, of course, available for all other Rigips profiles”, explains Martin Büsch, Head of Marketing Communication at RIGIPS. “With the climate- and resource-friendly RiDuce profile range, we have once again opened an important path to climate-friendly construction and offer all parties involved in construction, such as architects, planners, and general contractors, a ‘green’ system solution for CO2-reduced dry interior construction.”
Recognisable by the green strapping band
The RiDuce range of profiles is available as both wall and ceiling options, featuring the user-friendly RigiProfil MultiTec design. Another advantage in terms of sustainability and handling: profiles in the RiDuce range can be ordered in project-specific fixed lengths.
