Our goal is to improve and make construction safer. To this end, we develop systems and accessories that help to achieve this goal. Rigidur screed elements have different properties depending on their design, including permissible loads, sound and fire protection, and thermal insulation. They can also be combined with other products to create an optimal floor structure.
True sound absorbers!
To achieve the best possible impact sound insulation on solid floors, we recommend using a combination of the Rigidur Screed Element 20 by RIGIPS and the highly compacted stone wool screed insulation slab ISOVER Akustic EP 3. With a construction height of just 30 mm, this option can improve standard sound values by up to 3 dB. With a permissible point load of 1 kN and an area load of 2 kN/m², this combination is ideal for living spaces and hotel rooms.

Example project:
Repurposing an existing building by converting it into residential units. Renovation of existing old concrete ceilings.
Task:
The requirements for sound and impact sound insulation for apartment partition ceilings according to DIN 4109-1:2018-01 must be met.
At the same time, the additional mass introduced must be kept as low as possible, and the construction process does not allow for long drying times.
Solution:
By combining the Rigidur Screed Element 20 with the ISOVER Akustic EP 3 in 12 mm thickness, an improvement in impact sound insulation of the existing concrete ceiling by 25 dB can be achieved, with a construction height of only 32 mm and a surface weight of approximately 26 kg/m².

With the Rigidur Screed Element 20 and the Akustic EP 3 by ISOVER, a slim construction and simultaneously the best impact sound insulation of up to 3 dB compared to standard market constructions is possible.
Impressive with an improvement of 25 dB at a construction height of approximately 32 mm and 28 dB at a construction height of approximately 40 mm. Furthermore, the installation of the top flooring can begin immediately after the dry screed is completed.

Unevenness in the subfloor of 10 to 30 mm can be levelled with the Rigidur levelling fill.
