Structural fire protection on a new level

Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit) – for certified fire protection systems with new construction technical verifications

The scope and complexity of building regulations and legal requirements for structural fire protection have grown significantly today. In addition, demands within buildings are increasing due to factors related to users, such as multifunctional use, changes in building structures, renovations and extensive technical installations. Drywall specialist RIGIPS offers a wide range of suitable systems to meet this multitude of requirements, including all relevant product, system and applicability certifications. The central element of these constructions is Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit), which the manufacturer has made even more efficient thanks to comprehensive advancements.

The new Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit) fire protection boards have fully fleece-covered edges for an extra level of stability. With available thicknesses of 12.5, 15, 20 and 25 mm, the boards can be used in a variety of fire protection constructions. For the first time, 20 per cent recycled gypsum has been used in the production of Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit) boards, helping to conserve resources. The production of Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit) in the standard width of 1,250 mm at the German manufacturing site in Scholven further emphasises climate friendliness, offering quality "Made in Germany" with short delivery routes.

The latest generation of Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit) is a fleece-reinforced gypsum board in accordance with DIN EN 15283-1 Type GM-FH2 with reduced water absorption and enhanced structural integrity at high temperatures. This enables highly efficient fire protection constructions to be produced, as the special board remains dimensionally stable and crack-free even under prolonged fire exposure. This makes Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit) particularly suitable for buildings with high fire protection requirements. The H2 classification also permits its use in rooms with temporarily increased humidity.

The non-combustible (building material class A1) fire protection boards are now manufactured with fully fleece-covered edges, providing for an additional level of stability. Furthermore, the range has been expanded to include a board thickness of 12.5 mm. The now available board thicknesses (12.5, 15, 20, and 25 mm) allow versatile use in particularly high-quality fire protection constructions such as structural claddings, I- and E-channel constructions, as well as wall and ceiling constructions. For the first time, 20 per cent recycled gypsum is used in the production of Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit) boards, contributing to resource conservation. Climate friendliness is further emphasised by the production of Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit) in the standard width of 1,250 mm at the German manufacturing site in Scholven – quality "Made in Germany" and short delivery routes included.

Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit) is a fleece-reinforced gypsum board according to DIN EN 15283-1 Type GM-FH2 with reduced water absorption capacity and improved structural cohesion at high temperatures. This enables highly efficient fire protection constructions to be produced, as the special board remains dimensionally stable and crack-free even under prolonged fire exposure. This makes Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit) particularly suitable for buildings with high fire protection requirements.

Cost-effectiveness easily installed

Fire protection constructions based on the new Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit) offer a variety of advantages: slim structures are possible thanks to the low cladding thickness, which supports the flexible and cost-effective realisation of high-quality fire protection constructions, such as structural claddings. The fire protection boards are also easy to install thanks to their stable edge connections, which are secured using clips or screws.

Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit) is the foundation of fully tested and documented systems that comply with the latest standards and requirements. For special construction situations where no explicit proof of applicability is yet available, Rigips also offers site-specific support through its technical project consultancy service. Their fire protection experts can help with planning professional construction proposals and obtaining project-specific construction approvals.
