Slim in design, quick to install

Rigidur screed elements and ECOtherm underfloor heating – the perfect system solution for comfortable warmth in existing buildings

RIGIPS and ECOtherm offer a particularly powerful solution for the renovation and expansion of existing buildings, combining Rigidur screed elements with a highly efficient underfloor heating system. This exclusive flooring duo is characterised by its low build height and quick and easy installation, as well as being particularly cost-effective in terms of purchase and implementation. The underfloor heating system is easily integrated into the existing Rigidur dry screed floor using milling technology. The floor covering can then be applied immediately afterwards, enabling the living space to be used again quickly. Find out more at: www.rigips.de/rigidur-fussbodenheizung

Underfloor heating systems provide cosy, evenly distributed warmth throughout the room during the winter months. They are already a standard feature in new builds, and this comfortable heating method is also becoming an increasingly popular choice for homeowners and investors in renovation projects, especially given the steadily rising conversion rates to modern heat pumps.

However, implementation during renovations or modernisations often fails due to the excessive build heights of traditional heating systems. In existing buildings, every centimetre of room height matters. The duration of the renovation process, extended drying times and the excessive weight of traditional heating screeds are also often deal-breakers for occupied spaces and building statics. The new, perfectly coordinated combination of Rigidur screed elements and the integrated ECOtherm underfloor heating system thus offers ideal conditions for the“underfloor heating project”.

Two steps to a new floor with integrated heating

The new system solution from Rigips and ECOtherm enables the straightforward and cost-effective installation of an efficient underfloor heating system with a lightweight, slim structure, starting from just 25 mm. Assembly can be completed in as little as two days. First, the entire floor is covered with Rigidur dry screed in drywall construction. Any uneven areas of the subfloor can be levelled using Rigidur levelling compound. In addition to their proven load-bearing capacity, Rigidur screed elements also offer excellent soundproofing and fire protection properties.

The second step involves the clean and nearly dust-free installation of the underfloor heating system. Channels to accommodate the heating pipes are milled into the screed, but only where and in the number required. Once the pipes have been laid and the joints sealed with filler, the floor is ready to accommodate all standard floor coverings immediately, without requiring long drying times. As the heating system is located directly beneath the floor covering, it heats up quickly and provides fast warmth.

All information about the system solution with Rigidur screed elements and ECOtherm underfloor heating can be found clearly summarised at www.rigips.de/rigidur-fussbodenheizung. A “Rigips Compact” PDF is also available for download, providing detailed information about the construction variants and application areas – such as office spaces.
