Concrete solutions for circular construction

Finally infinite – the new Rigips Infinaé construction board with at least 40% recycled gypsum for sustainable new construction and modernisation projects

With the launch of Rigips Infinaé, drywall specialist Rigips once again demonstrates its pioneering role in sustainable practices. Its new, resource-efficient gypsum boards contain a minimum of 40% recycled gypsum, setting a new standard for circular construction. The environmentally friendly boards' cardboard surfaces are also made from recycled material. The new development is available in three variants: Rigips construction board RB Infinaé; Rigips construction board RBI (impregnated) Infinaé; and Rigips fire protection board RF Infinaé. This is a significant step forward in terms of climate and resource protection without compromising on processing comfort or performance.

Sustainable construction with Rigips Infina: the new, resource-efficient construction board from drywall specialist Rigips contains a minimum of 40% recycled gypsum (based on the mass of gypsum raw material used per square metre of board) and is a pioneering innovation in circular construction. The environmentally friendly boards' cardboard surfaces are also made from recycled material. The new development is available in three variants: Rigips construction board RB Infinaé; Rigips construction board RBI (impregnated) Infinaé; and Rigips fire protection board RF Infinaé.

As a natural and healthy raw and building material, gypsum can be recycled infinitely. This makes it an ideal choice for circular construction and resource conservation. In line with our commitment to sustainability, RIGIPS is increasingly relying on recycled gypsum as a source of raw materials.

Less FGD and natural gypsum used

“Thanks to recycled gypsum, we can reduce the use of natural gypsum and FGD gypsum, which is produced during industrial flue gas desulfurization, without compromising product quality,” explains Rigips product manager Henrik Schmidt. “By reprocessing and reusing deconstructed gypsum materials, we make an important contribution to meeting the demand for new building materials. In this way, we support the sustainable construction transition and the ambitious new construction goals of the federal government, among other things, with the new Rigips Infinaé."

A sustainable solution – three variants

The environmentally friendly Rigips Infinaé is available in three variants: the Rigips construction board RB Infinaé; the Rigips construction board RBI (impregnated) Infinaé, which is suitable for use in damp and wet rooms; and the Rigips fire protection board RF Infinaé, which is suitable for constructions with fire protection requirements. The proven quality of Rigips products is consistently ensured in all three versions.

These sustainable boards can be cut and mounted easily and precisely as usual. They are ideal for use in straight and curved constructions, allowing for creative room designs.

Another milestone in the “Sustainability Roadmap”

Rigips Infinaé sets a new standard in the field of gypsum boards. The board is an important building block in the continuous development of sustainable products and systems at RIGIPS. With a recycled gypsum content of at least 40% – based on the mass of gypsum raw material used per m2 board – the new Infinaé boards are another example of the consistent implementation of this strategy. The CO₂-reduced Rigips RiDuce profiles are the perfect sustainable addition, with a CO₂ footprint more than 70% lower than that of a profile made from conventional steel sheet produced using the same process at the same production site. The profiles are manufactured using 100% renewable energy sources and 75% recycled scrap metal. In combination with Rigips Infinaé, particularly resource-efficient drywall constructions can be realised.

Closing resource loops

The EASY ECO recycling service completes the concept of circular construction. ISOVER and RIGIPS provide a straightforward yet effective way to reintroduce gypsum boards and mineral wool as valuable materials into the production cycle. This applies to both guaranteed material take-back after deconstruction and offcuts from construction sites.
