Experience diversity

The way people collaborate shapes their everyday work. The values and principles set out in the RIGIPS mission statement guide our actions and interactions with each other, as well as with our external partners. One of the key points is "respect for others". While this may seem obvious to many, it highlights a fundamental attitude and belief held by the Saint-Gobain Group and its companies, which operate internationally. Diversity enriches our lives and our company. Accordingly, we are committed to experiencing and embracing diversity in all areas of the company.

This is reflected in the following concrete measures, for example:

  • Striving for parity in new hires
  • Multicultural management
  • Integration of severely disabled individuals
  • Employment of older workers
  • Promoting young talent

Striving for parity in new hires

The demand for a "quota" for top leadership positions is now being made in politics. Our own aim is to significantly increase the proportion of female specialists and executives at all levels.

We have therefore set ourselves the following goal:

  • actively promoting gender parity, including in hiring, training, career development, etc.
  • adopting diversity rules; in doing so, we focus on...
    • clear criteria for identifying talent,
    • independent and comparable metrics for qualifications,
    • flexible career paths and working conditions, and
    • continuous evaluation of these measures to assess their effectiveness and to constantly improve.

Multicultural management

The fact that SAINT-GOBAIN successfully operates with around 171,000 employees in a total of 68 countries means that our corporate culture is inherently multicultural. Therefore, it is essential that all levels of management understand and respect the multicultural context in which the group operates.

At the same time, the group places great importance on setting up local teams in countries where it has only recently started operating. These teams are familiar with the group's values and accustomed to working within multicultural structures. This is one of the fundamental objectives of the seminars at the Saint-Gobain School of Management.

At SAINT-GOBAIN RIGIPS, we are committed to embracing and promoting cultural diversity. Our ability to adapt to new challenges in a highly dynamic market is crucial to our long-term business success. In this regard, the skills and knowledge of our employees are our greatest strengths. The broader and more diverse these are, the stronger and more successful we will be.

Integration of severely disabled individuals

The integration of disabled individuals forms part of our behavioural principles, and we aim to promote the recruitment and integration of those with severe disabilities. This is achieved through the following concrete measures: at least 5% of jobs within the company are to be filled by severely disabled individuals. Furthermore, the integration of disabled individuals is a fixed component of personnel planning, personnel development and workplace health promotion.

To this end, the following appropriate tools have been created:

  • Promoting the employment and integration of disabled individuals through information and, if necessary, suitable training for managers;
  • Equal opportunities for training and further education for severely disabled employees;
  • Personnel development discussions; orientation talks; goal-setting and development discussions;
  • Promoting part-time employment and securing part-time jobs, if necessary;
  • Encouraging the hiring of disabled individuals;
  • Reviewing ergonomic workplace design;

Employment of older workers

Clearly, demographic change will require a shift in thinking. In the future, a significantly larger proportion of older individuals will be actively involved in corporate activities. Creating conditions that enable them to contribute their extensive experience and skills optimally is an important task in shaping a successful future. RIGIPS recognised this early on and has successfully implemented various measures for some time. Through health discussions, workplace reintegration management and suitable health prevention programmes, steps have been taken to maintain our employees' working ability and benefit from their experience.

Promoting young talent

We are passionate about training our young talent. We are happy to share our employees' experiences with our trainees, giving them a good start in their careers and building on what they have already learned.

In addition to comprehensive training, RIGIPS provides young talent with a variety of attractive opportunities for further education and career development. As part of the successful international Saint-Gobain Group, there are diverse development prospects, even internationally.

Our mission statement establishes that our employees are the foundation of our success. Together, we realise innovative solutions and approaches. We maintain and enhance our employees' skills through consistent training, development measures and information exchange.
