Maximum sound insulation up to 98 dB with Rigidur H gypsum fiberboards
Example solution based on a room-in-room construction
Standard constructions often cannot solve special sound and room acoustic challenges.
In Rigips Kompakt 02/20, we demonstrate how Rigips can assist in developing unique solutions using the example of RAW Hall 20 in Berlin.
In close coordination with all parties involved in the construction, including KAEFER Construction GmbH, we developed the following completely new and complex room-in-room construction to meet the specific requirements of RAW Hall 20:
Construction with a model character
Despite the mass required for soundproofing, the wall structure acts like a flexible shell that perfectly meets the acoustic requirements. The acousticians at Wax GmbH determined the calculated behaviour of the individual components and the entire construction in advance with regard to different frequencies and vibrations. Subsequent on-site sound measurements after installation resulted in a sound insulation value of 98 dB from room to room.
Result
The "House of Music" features 40 uniquely designed rental boxes, offering innovative room-in-room solutions with exceptional acoustic properties.
System comparison: benefits and advantages
Excellent soundproofing even in standard constructions with Rigips Systems MW12RH and MW22RH.
Thanks to the high mass of the Rigidur H gypsum fibreboard, even standard constructions with double-layer cladding provide excellent soundproofing:

Task: Creation of 40 adjacent "noisy rooms" for various film, music, and sound productions that can be used simultaneously without disruptive acoustic influences from neighbouring boxes.
Solution:
Development of a completely new wall construction made of four layers of Rigidur gypsum fibreboards with an embedded steel sheet, achieving a measured sound insulation of 98 dB, including wall hangings.
