Structural fire protection with Rigips® Glasroc® F
Secure planning and execution
In accordance with building regulations, structural facilities must be designed, built, altered and maintained in such a way as to prevent fires and the spread of fire and smoke, while ensuring the rescue of people and animals, and enabling effective firefighting operations, in the event of a fire. This requirement gives rise to demands on...
- the combustibility of building materials,
- the fire resistance duration of the construction,
- the tightness of closures in openings, and
- the arrangement, location, and design of escape routes.
Structural fire protection with Glasroc F delivers fire protection solutions for...
- wall systems,
- ceiling systems,
- fire protection cladding, and
- cable and installation ducts.
RIGIPS offers a wide range of fire protection designs featuring the special gypsum board Rigips Glasroc F, enabling the above requirements to be cost-effectively implemented in a project. These high-quality systems and detailed solutions allow you to consistently meet strict fire protection requirements and implement special fire protection concepts, for example in connection with specialised buildings.
The fire protection constructions with Rigips Glasroc F, as described in this document, are unregulated types of construction. In most cases, their use is governed by a general construction inspection test certificate (AbP). Additionally, general construction approvals (AbZ) are available for certain products, as well as supplementary expert evaluations for special design forms. When planning or executing the fire protection constructions described in this document, the aforementioned documentation must be taken into account.
This ensures the highest level of security for planning and executing your projects. At RIGIPS, we are committed to providing the highest quality, whether it's our Rigips Glasroc F fire protection systems or our expert employees, who support you daily by providing advice and assistance in developing custom solutions, for example.
If there is no existing proof of applicability for a specific construction situation, our sales and project consulting fire protection experts are happy to provide a professional construction proposal to assist with project-specific assessments or individual approvals.
To ensure consistently high-quality fire protection solutions, RIGIPS operates a certified, comprehensive quality management system covering every stage of the process, from initial consultation to completion.

Rigips® Glasroc® F 15, 20, 25, and 30 – product information
- Powerful and reliable in the system
- Standards-compliant product according to DIN EN 15283-1
- Moisture-resistant
- Flexible in application
- Non-combustible (A1)
Rigips Glasroc F is a special fire protection board from RIGIPS, which, as a glass mat-reinforced gypsum board complies with DIN EN 15283-1 type GM-FH2,
with reduced water absorption and improved structural integrity at high temperatures.
Rigips Glasroc F is available in thicknesses of 15/20/25 and 30 mm for the main fire protection applications. The improved structural integrity of the board allows the creation of highly efficient fire protection constructions, as Rigips Glasroc F remains dimensionally stable and crack-free even after prolonged exposure to fire. The H2 classification permits the use of the board in environments with temporarily elevated humidity due to usage.
Rigips Glasroc F is characterised primarily by its smooth, even surface. It is CE-marked as a standards-compliant product and classified as an A1 material under EN 13501-1.
This brochure describes how to create high-quality, cost-effective fire protection designs with Rigips Glasroc F.
Rigips Glasroc F can be considered for the fire protection design of steel components according to Eurocode 3 Part 1-2.
Rigips Glasroc F is easy to process and allows secure connections through edge clamping or screwing due to its high strength. Processing is carried out according to Rigips processing guidelines.
Rigips® Glasroc® F 6 – product information
- Powerful and safe in the system
- Standard-compliant product according to DIN EN 15283-1
- Non-combustible (A1)
- Dry bendable
- Versatile in use
Rigips Glasroc F 6 is a special fire protection board from RIGIPS with a nominal thickness of 6 mm, which is dry bendable.
Rigips Glasroc F 6 is ideal for constructing curved and arched components that require fire protection.
Rigips Glasroc F 6 is a fibre-reinforced plasterboard that meets the requirements of DIN EN 15283-1. It corresponds to type GM-FH1 and has improved structural integrity at high temperatures. This allows for the production of highly efficient fire protection constructions, as the board remains dimensionally stable and crack-free even after prolonged exposure to fire.
It is CE-certified as a standard-compliant product and classified as an A1 building material according to DIN EN 13501-1.
Thanks to their high flexibility and strength, Rigips Glasroc F 6 boards can be installed in both concave and convex curved constructions. The minimum radius for convex constructions is 1,000 mm and 600 mm for concave constructions. This makes creating curved structures in wall and ceiling areas particularly cost-effective. Installation should be carried out in accordance with the Rigips Drywall Installation Guidelines.
