Cable and service ducts – safe and reliable with Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit)

High safety and cost-effectiveness

In structural fire protection, installation ducts and cable ducts are distinguished for the purpose of maintaining functionality. As most cable sheaths are combustible, the appropriate fire protection measures must be taken, depending on the level of protection required. Ducts that are horizontally routed and mounted on suspended structures using support rails have proven particularly effective. This solution offers high levels of safety and cost-efficiency.

The latest test certificates demonstrate the high performance of Rigips installation and cable ducts, which are made from Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit), an innovative special fire-protection board. Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit) is a fleece-reinforced gypsum board of type GM-FH2 according to DIN EN 15283-1, made with 20% recycled gypsum.

We also offer technical building systems (TGA) planners suitable solutions with the best performance values: in the compact overview of the "Cable and Installation Ducts with Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit)" systems, you will find the solution that is right for you. To the brochure (PDF)...

Rigips cable ducts protect against fire spreading from the outside to the inside for a certain period, ensuring the continued functionality of cable systems. This provides safety for operational plants, control systems, alarm systems, lighting and fire suppression systems.

● Fire resistance: E 30 to E 90
● Tested according to DIN 4102-11
● 4-, 3-, and 2-sided E-ducts (suspended, suspended and directly fixed, directly fixed)
● Duct widths up to 800 mm
● Extra-wide version with substructure for duct widths up to 1,500 mm
● Suspension distance a ≤ 1,250 mm
● Also executable as gypsum bar ducts or niche covers
The optional design with a removable cover allows very simple retrofitting when needed.

Rigips installation ducts prevent the spread of fire, for example from the inside to the outside through cable fire, thus containing the fire within the duct. This provides reliable protection for surrounding rooms, corridors and escape routes.

● Fire resistance: I 30 to I 120
● Tested according to DIN 4102-12
● 4- and 3-sided I-ducts (suspended, suspended and directly fixed)
● Duct widths up to 1,000 mm
● Suspension distance a ≤ 1,250 mm
● Also executable as gypsum bar ducts or niche covers

The high strength of Rigips Glasroc F (Ridurit) allows the boards to be connected to the front with clamps, eliminating the need for substructures. The specifications of the relevant application certificate must be fulfilled during execution. Installation ducts are tested in accordance with DIN 4102-11.

Rigips system search with a calculation tool for cable and installation ducts

The Rigips calculation tool for cable ducts and installation ducts is used to determine the cladding thickness or wall thickness of duct constructions according to fire exposure and duct design.

Based on the fire resistance class, fire exposure, cable design, and required internal dimensions, the appropriate system variant for each system is determined. In addition, further information and instructions for quantity calculations and CAD details are available here.
