System solutions for timber-frame external wall constructions
Slim, efficient, healthy for living and safe thanks to a high‑performance layer build‑up with perfectly coordinated components.
ISOVER and RIGIPS will present an equally slim and powerful exterior wall construction at DACH+HOLZ 2024, based on specially optimised and tested product solutions for serial timber construction. With their perfectly coordinated insulation and lining solutions, slim yet robust exterior walls that meet the EH-40 standard can easily be realised, as can the requirements of the timber construction guidelines for building classes 4 and 5. This ensures that the strictest requirements for thermal insulation in summer and winter, as well as for sound, fire and moisture protection, are adhered to reliably. Depending on the building class and fire protection requirements, minor modifications can be made to respond flexibly to specific construction conditions.

The new timber-frame exterior wall combines powerful lining and insulation solutions from RIGIPS and ISOVER. The exterior side — which forms the basis for plaster application — consists of a layer of glass-fibre-reinforced, hydrophobic Glasroc X from Rigips. This board provides optimal moisture protection for the timber elements and offers maximum flexibility during construction thanks to its immediate weather protection properties. Furthermore, Glasroc X boards can be processed like standard plasterboards, which is a significant labour advantage compared to cement-bound panels.
“All in one”: thermal, sound, fire and moisture protection
Highly effective thermal and sound insulation is achieved by completely insulating the stud cavities and providing lightweight, highly efficient over-insulation for the timber studs. "For building classes 1 to 3, we recommend ISOVER Kontur HBF-032 non-combustible glass wool insulation for studs", explains Michael Berger,Market Manager for Timber Construction at ISOVER and RIGIPS. "It can be inserted with minimal waste and fits precisely between the studs, guaranteeing excellent insulation values thanks to its low thermal conductivity. If the increased fire protection requirements of building classes 4 and 5 apply, the cavity insulation is carried out using ULTIMATE HBF-031 instead. This timber construction felt is made from ULTIMATE high-performance mineral wool and has a melting point of over 1,000°C. Thus, even the strictest fire protection criteria can be easily met. Both construction variants also receive over-insulation with the ULTIMATE AP Supra-031 board to ensure a particularly slim structure compared to conventional EH-40 constructions."
Perfectly coordinated insulation and cladding solutions from ISOVER and RIGIPS make it easy to create slim yet robust exterior walls that meet the EH-40 standard, as well as the timber construction guidelines for building classes 4 and 5.

High living comfort produced serially
The interior side of the newly introduced component construction guarantees maximum safety in terms of building physics and high living comfort: the Vario® XtraSafe climate membrane, together with the other components of the proven ISOVER Vario airtightness and moisture protection system, provides permanent moisture protection and increased safety through enhanced drying potential. The interior lining uses statically approved, non-combustible and highly sound-insulating Rigidur H gypsum fibreboards from RIGIPS. These biologically recommended boards regulate moisture, ensuring a pleasant indoor climate. They also have extremely hard and smooth surfaces, making them “immune” to rough bumps and impacts while enabling high surface quality to be achieved in just a few steps.
"Another advantage for timber construction companies, especially those involved in prefabrication: Rigidur H boards are also available in large formats of up to 6 x 2.5 metres, which significantly supports efficient, joint-free serial processing", says Michael Berger.
