Suitable for water exposure class W3-I
Rigips Glasroc X – powerful alternative to cement-bonded boards
Rigips Glasroc X is a safe and versatile solution for creating high-quality drywall constructions in damp and wet rooms as well as in exterior walls and protected outdoor ceilings. The new sealing standard DIN 18534-1, which comes into effect in October 2025, clearly defines the use of this moisture- and mould-resistant special gypsum board in water exposure class W2-I. Furthermore, certificate No. Z-655-21, issued by the Testing Institute for Wood and Drywall Construction (VHT) in Darmstadt, confirms that the board is suitable as a sealing substrate in water exposure class W3-I. This gives tradespeople and planners maximum security when planning and implementing projects. Rigips Glasroc X remains a powerful alternative to cement-bound boards.
A powerful alternative to cement-bound boards: the new sealing standard DIN 18534-1, which comes into effect in October 2025, clearly defines the use of the moisture- and mould-resistant special gypsum board Rigips Glasroc X in water exposure class W2-I. Thanks to the clear definition of Rigips Glasroc X in the new DIN 18534-1 and the suitability certification of the VHT certificate No. Z-655-21, tradespeople and planners benefit from the highest level of security in planning their construction projects: complicated and time-consuming coordination for the use of Rigips Glasroc X as a powerful alternative to cement-bound boards is now a thing of the past. The implementation of construction projects is now significantly simpler and more reliable.
Alternative to cement-based boards
VHT certificate No. Z-655-21 confirms that Rigips Glasroc X is suitable as a sealing substrate in water exposure class W3-I. This special gypsum board is therefore not only technically, but also normatively, compliant, and can be used in a wider range of applications. In rooms with high moisture exposure, the moisture- and mould-resistant board is recommended due to its many excellent properties, making it a first-class alternative to cement-based boards.
Fast and cost-effective processing: Rigips Glasroc X can be processed quickly and easily by scoring and snapping. It is also significantly lighter than cement-bound boards, which is a major advantage when working overhead.
Maximum protection against moisture and mould
Rigips Glasroc X complies with type GM-FH1 according to DIN EN 15283-1, making it ideal for use in damp and wet rooms, as well as outdoor areas. The board has an inorganic surface with a particularly UV-resistant glass fleece, and a highly moisture- and mould-resistant gypsum core reinforced with glass fibres that is securely encased by the fleece. Rigips Glasroc X also offers excellent fire protection properties. The board is non-combustible (building material class A1), making it ideal for constructions with increased fire protection requirements.
Fast and economical processing
The Rigips Glasroc X also has excellent processing properties. The board can be processed much more easily and economically than cement-bound boards thanks to the scoring and snapping method. Precise results can also be achieved using a circular saw with a guide rail. Rigips Glasroc X can be stapled or screwed. Additionally, the board is significantly lighter than cement-bound boards, which is particularly advantageous when working at height. This makes execution significantly safer and easier.
