SAINT-GOBAIN provides information in a new brochure
About solutions for sustainable construction
In the new brochure "Sustainable Building – Shaping the Future", the SAINT-GOBAIN companies Weber, ISOVER, RIGIPS, SAINT-GOBAIN GLASS, ECOPHON, pre.formance, PAM BUILDING, and Brüggemann Holzbau are providing information for the first time about products and systems that particularly effectively meet the demands of sustainable building. As well as specific solutions, the brochure gives builders, planners and craftsmen an overview of the companies' recycling offerings, funding opportunities and ways to increase property value. The new brochure was launched at the 2nd Heinze Climate Festival in Berlin on 23 and 24 November 2023.

Anyone who builds leaves an ecological and social footprint that lasts for decades. While this is essentially self-evident, it has very concrete implications for the planning and construction process, especially in light of current challenges. Climate change, high energy prices, dwindling resources, and an ageing society – all aspects that directly influence how buildings must be designed in the future to enable socially acceptable living, working and life.
Constructive lightweight construction – prefabrication – serial building – modular building
The new SAINT-GOBAIN brochure "Sustainable Building – Shaping the Future" aims to provide comprehensive information. As well as presenting specific system solutions from individual companies, it showcases alternative construction methods that open up new possibilities for urban planning and significantly contribute to the sustainability of buildings in terms of their construction, use and eventual deconstruction or repurposing. Furthermore, the brochure provides a concise overview of key tools for planning sustainable buildings, such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) or Life Cycle Costing (LCC).
Location, location, efficiency
"This document is also recommended for use in advising builders and property owners. Those who are still undecided about investing in the energy efficiency of their building will find many good reasons to do so", explains Alexander Geissels, Sustainability Officer at SAINT-GOBAIN. "The old real estate agent wisdom of "Location, location, location" as a value-determining factor for property ownership has clearly shifted to "Location, location, efficiency". So-called "worst performance buildings" with an energy consumption of over 200 kWh/m², i.e. buildings in the poorest energy efficiency classes G and H, simply do not represent good investments. Apart from that, a lot of money is literally 'burned' over the years."
