New at DACH+HOLZ 2026: economical, sustainable, safe
ISOVER and RIGIPS present themselves at DACH+HOLZ International 2026 as strong partners for timber construction
The importance of solid wood and timber frame construction continues to grow, not only for smaller and medium-sized building complexes, but also for multi-storey new construction projects up to building class 5. By combining wood with high-performance cladding and insulation materials, constructions are created that offer optimal thermal, fire and sound protection, as well as being highly sustainable. Accordingly, this year's DACH+HOLZ International sees the two Saint-Gobain companies, ISOVER and RIGIPS, presenting their joint solutions for modern timber construction.
The importance of solid wood and timber frame construction continues to grow, not only for smaller and medium-sized building complexes, but also for new construction projects of up to five storeys and building class 5.
Timber construction is a sustainable and cost-effective building method, and a key factor in achieving the federal government's ambitious new construction goals. Timber construction projects are maximally efficient when combined with non-combustible insulation and high-quality cladding materials. “In addition to new solutions and systems, such as for building envelope walls or slim partition walls in timber construction, we are also presenting significant advancements in our classic timber construction range at DACH+HOLZ,” explains Martin Büsch, Head of Marketing Communication at ISOVER and RIGIPS.
Biologically recommended Rigidur gypsum fibreboards
A key element of many constructions is the Rigidur gypsum fibreboard range from drywall specialist RIGIPS. Rigidur gypsum fibreboards boast unique material properties, including high robustness and a high static load-bearing capacity. They also feature hard, smooth surfaces that are resistant to scratches and impacts. With their exceptionally high surface quality, comparable to Q3 level, and factory-applied primer, these boards provide an ideal foundation for subsequent coatings, even without full-surface jointing. Rigidur gypsum fibreboards are particularly recommended as an ideal complement to wood from a biological and ecological perspective: certification by the Institute for Building Biology in Rosenheim (IBR) confirms Rigidur's health compatibility. Environmental product declarations (EPDs) issued in accordance with the latest normative requirements also confirm the material's suitability for ecological timber construction projects.
By combining wood, a natural material, with high-performance cladding and insulation materials, constructions are created that offer optimal thermal, fire and sound protection. This year, the two Saint-Gobain companies, ISOVER and RIGIPS, are using DACH+HOLZ International to present their joint solutions for modern timber construction.
Soundproofing fill for “quiet walkers”
A few months ago, RIGIPS developed Rigidur, a new soundproofing filler made of natural anhydrite, designed for heavily stressed building components such as floors. It is a quick and effective way of creating an even load-bearing layer under dry screeds. Thanks to its high density, the filler is highly effective at maximising the impact sound insulation of floor constructions. The best results are achieved on wooden beam floors when the filler is used alongside ISOVER Akustik EP 3 screed insulation slabs and Rigidur dry screed elements. These highly durable, prefabricated floor elements can be installed quickly and cleanly in both new constructions and renovation projects. They are optimally tailored to sound, thermal and fire protection requirements, and can be combined with all common floor coverings.
A wide range of insulation materials covers all requirement profiles in timber construction
“By combining ISOVER’s mineral insulation solutions with Rigips cladding solutions, we can elevate the fire and thermal protection of our timber construction proposals to an impressive level, whether for floors, walls or ceilings. Even increased requirements and comfort expectations in residential construction can be met in terms of soundproofing,” adds Martin Büsch. The insulation specialist offers a wide range of solutions based on stone or glass wool, as well as the newly developed Lanaé wool, which is particularly climate-friendly, and the high-performance mineral wool ULTIMATE, depending on the requirements.
A key element of many constructions presented at DACH+HOLZ are solutions from the Rigidur gypsum fiberboard range by drywall specialist RIGIPS. In addition to their unique material properties, such as high robustness and static load-bearing capacity, Rigidur gypsum fibreboards are particularly recommended from a biological perspective – documented in Environmental Product Declarations (EPD) issued in accordance with the latest normative requirements.
ULTIMATE – the better stone wool for high-performance fire, thermal and sound protection
The best example of the performance values of the ULTIMATE solutions used in many presented construction variants is the non-combustible ISOVER timber construction felt ULTIMATE HBF-031: With a melting point > 1,000 °C, ULTIMATE mineral wool possesses the fire protection properties of stone wool while simultaneously offering the handling advantages and outstanding thermal insulation properties of glass wool. For instance, the innovative timber construction felt is delivered highly compressed, requiring less storage space – a noticeable advantage, especially on confined construction sites or in prefabrication. The decisive factor: with the nominal thermal conductivity value of 0.031 W/m*K, particularly efficient and slim constructions are possible. ISOVER ULTIMATE HBF-031 has a raw density > 30 kg/m3, making it directly usable in standard constructions according to DIN 4102-4.
Recycling as part of the solution
As part of the EASY ECO initiative, ISOVER and RIGIPS offer their customers a range of services, including the return of pallets and packaging materials, the collection of construction site waste, and the return of materials after deconstruction. These services provide customers with a simple, functional way to avoid waste and conserve important resources.
RIGIPS has developed a new soundproofing fill made of natural anhydrite for frequently heavily stressed building components such as floors. This dry and fast solution creates an even load-bearing layer under dry screeds. Thanks to its high density, the soundproofing filler is particularly effective at maximising the impact sound insulation of ceiling constructions.
