ISOVER and RIGIPS at DACH+HOLZ

Outlook on innovations for the coming months

In addition to professional exchanges with market partners and presentations of new system solutions for modern timber construction, ISOVER and RIGIPS are using their joint appearance at the DACH+HOLZ 2024 trade fair to showcase numerous product innovations. Some are on the verge of being launched onto the market, while others are intended to stimulate interest among trade fair and booth visitors, as Markus Rehm, Marketing Director of ISOVER and RIGIPS, explains.

One of the many innovations presented at DACH+HOLZ was a fully integrated surface heating system from RIGIPS. The surface is heated to 30–35 °C, generating radiant heat that is perceived as particularly comfortable. "It is a standalone heating system, meaning no additional heating systems are required. In modern, well-insulated homes, the new surface heating system offers an economical, all-in-one solution", says Markus Rehm, Marketing Director at RIGIPS and ISOVER. Photo: SAINT-GOBAIN RIGIPS GmbH

Topics such as sustainability and circularity, energy efficiency and living comfort, and digitalisation and connectivity are shaping this year's DACH+HOLZ in Stuttgart. These aspects also play a special role at the joint stand of the two Saint-Gobain companies ISOVER and RIGIPS. "First and foremost, we are delighted to finally be able to exchange ideas with our customers and market partners in person again", says Markus Rehm. "At the trade fair, we are presenting some highly efficient component systems that offer real added value for skilled trades, serial timber construction and property owners and builders. In Stuttgart, we are also providing a concrete outlook on what can be expected from ISOVER and RIGIPS in the coming months: solutions that will significantly simplify future work and open up new possibilities for designing forward-looking buildings."

Surface heating and circular drywall

Markus Rehm cites a surface heating system jointly developed by Saint-Gobain Research and RIGIPS as a good example of such a solution. This system is fully integrated into a board that appears, at first glance, to be a conventional drywall board. The surface is heated to 30–35 °C, generating radiant heat that is perceived as particularly comfortable. "It is a standalone heating system, meaning no additional heating systems are required. In modern insulated houses, the new surface heating system provides an economical overall solution."

Also "fresh" from the Saint-Gobain Rigips development department is RigiMove – the"circular drywall of the future". It allows for maximum flexibility in room usage and is characterised above all by its seamless appearance. It is also quick to implement and can be reused without limitation. "No screws, no filling, no sanding – entire walls can thus be dismantled and rebuilt elsewhere", says Markus Rehm. The new Rigips 3D Scan Measurement App provides an intuitive tool for particularly simple and quick measurements during a redesign, for example. Using a 3D scan of the room to be measured, it is directly connected to the Rigips system search and can automatically generate the necessary material and quantity lists at the push of a button.

At ISOVER, safety is the overarching theme of many of the innovations presented, such as a new calculation service designed specifically for older pitched roofs on which photovoltaic systems are to be installed.

New services and products for even greater building physics and processing safety

At ISOVER, safety is the overarching theme of many of the innovations presented, in terms of both building physics and processing technology. "For instance, we have developed a new calculation service to address the issue of shading caused by photovoltaic systems on older pitched roofs. The increasing number of photovoltaic systems gives rise to certain moisture risks, particularly with older, relatively dense underlay membranes in roof structures. In cooperation with independent research institutes, we provide corresponding risk assessments and solution concepts." These solution concepts are based on the Vario airtightness and moisture protection system, and the insulation specialist will be presenting a series of new developments related to this system during the trade fair.

"Some of the innovations we are showcasing have been deliberately designed to be "interactive" as part of the trade fair presentation. This means that visitors can learn about the planned solutions and share their opinions and suggestions with us. These will be incorporated into the final development process before the products are launched on the market, helping to ensure that we continue to bring highly practical and powerful solutions to market in the near future", says Markus Rehm.
