Award Gala of the 13th Rigips Trophy 2021 I 2023

After a pandemic-induced hiatus, joy was evident on many faces: the approximately 300 participants at the ceremonial award ceremony of the 13th Rigips Trophy enjoyed the exclusive industry gathering and took the opportunity to finally engage in personal conversations with many colleagues – and, of course, to extensively celebrate the winners of this year’s drywall competition. The historic Palm Garden in Frankfurt am Main provided the fitting setting for the award ceremony on the evening of March 11, 2023.

Opened in 1871, the Palm Garden is one of Germany’s best-known botanical gardens. With its magnificent neo-Renaissance banquet hall and the adjacent Palm House terrace, it provides the perfect ambience for grand celebrations. The evening atmosphere was suitably festive, with the invited drywall contractors being personally welcomed by Danijel Lučić, Managing Director of Sales and Marketing at Saint-Gobain Rigips, and the entire Rigips sales team.

The evening was entirely focused on modern drywall construction, accompanied by an entertaining programme and culinary highlights. Out of over 60 projects submitted, the expert jury of the Rigips Trophy had selected eight winners and twelve nominees in advance. The identities of these winners and nominees remained strictly confidential until the evening of the awards gala, ensuring that guests' anticipation was maintained until the very end.

In his welcome speech, Danijel Lučić, Managing Director of Sales and Marketing at Saint-Gobain Rigips, directly addressed the major challenges of the past years: "If there was any certainty during Germany’s almost three years of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was the German construction industry. All of you contributed with great commitment and passion to ensuring that ambitious, sustainable, and forward-looking building projects could be implemented even during this difficult time."

In his welcome speech, Danijel Lučić directly addressed the major challenges of the past years: "If there was any certainty during Germany’s almost three years of the COVID-19 pandemic, it was the German construction industry. All of you contributed with great commitment and passion to ensuring that ambitious, sustainable, and forward-looking building projects could be implemented even during this difficult time. For this, we owe you our special thanks. The fact that drywall construction, like no other building method, will play a key role in the ecological and economic construction of tomorrow has already been proven through the projects presented this evening. And Rigips will, in the coming months – as much as we can already announce here – contribute with numerous initiatives to ensure that this pioneering role in the construction industry is further strengthened. We promise you that Rigips will continue to be a partner by your side for whom sustainability is not just an empty buzzword. We are excited to work with you and your teams to elevate modern drywall construction to a new level and tackle the complex challenges of the coming years with success and enthusiasm."

Out of more than 60 submitted projects, the expert jury of the Rigips Trophy had selected 8 winners and 12 nominees in advance, who remained strictly confidential until the evening of the award gala.

The World Championship of drywall awaits

The three category winners in Drywall, Residential Construction and Non-Residential Construction will also have the opportunity to present themselves and their projects at the Saint-Gobain Gypsum International Trophy. This "World Championship" of drywall construction will take place at the end of April 2023 in Athens.
