Suspended ceilings have been the standard solution for creating an aesthetically pleasing underside for decades. The need to install wide-span ceiling systems can arise for a variety of construction-specific reasons. For instance, a high density of installations in the ceiling void, low load-bearing capacity of the structural ceiling or stringent sound insulation requirements for the suspended ceiling can render such solutions essential.

Up to 10 m span without intermediate suspension, up to F 90

In wide-span beam ceiling systems from Rigips, the primary load-bearing structure is formed by Rigips UA-bracing profiles, to which supporting profiles made from Rigips CD-ceiling profiles are directly attached. In this case, the wide-span beams serve as the base profile and do not have any suspension. Alternatively, suspension can be attached to the wide-span beams, in which case the beam serves as an auxiliary construction. When executed as an "XL"-system, Rigips wide-span beam ceilings can be installed without intermediate suspension and can be up to 10 m long. If necessary, they can also achieve fire resistance of up to 90 minutes.
