Protected, safe, sustainable

From April 2022, drywall specialist RIGIPS will deliver its Rigidur gypsum fibreboards in a new pallet packaging format measuring 1,000 mm x 1,500 mm. These have been optimised to provide a range of benefits. "The boards are now even better protected, load security has increased, and the product labelling is clearer", says Kai Fricke, the responsible Product Manager at RIGIPS, summarising some of the changes.

The base area of the new Rigidur pallets is larger than before, providing even better protection for the board edges against potential damage. This also makes transportation significantly safer, for example when using a crane with a hydraulic clamp. Double strapping of the pallets provides additional safety. Compared to conventional pallets wrapped in film, this significantly improves load security for the manufacturer’s logistics partners.

"Eliminating plastic films and covers has another key benefit: it significantly reduces the amount of waste generated on construction sites, as there is no longer any unnecessary plastic film to dispose of", explains Kai Fricke. This is an important step towards reducing packaging waste.
