"Steel sheet is currently hard to obtain on the market, and when it is available, it is usually extremely expensive", says Kai Fricke, RIGIPS's product manager, summarising the current situation. "With the Rigips Habito solid drywall board, we offer a solution that combines many advantages. The board can be supplied quickly and reliably achieves resistance class RC 3 without the need for additional reinforcements, which is useful for partition walls between apartments. This eliminates the cost of steel sheets and the time-consuming cutting and installation process. Powerful, burglar-resistant walls can therefore be realised with Rigips Habito in a cost-effective, quick and secure manner."

Tested drywall solution without a steel sheet
The walls with Rigips Habito have undergone testing in accordance with the European standard (EN 1627) for resistance to burglary attempts on a component. Class RC 2 was reliably achieved without additional protective measures, and class RC 3 was proven with halved stud spacing. Further measures, such as steel sheet inserts or combinations with solid building materials, are not required. The drywall solution tested without a steel sheet, using the Rigips EW12HA system, is certified for RC 2 (certificate No. TT-221/2020) and RC 3 (certificate No. TT-222/2020).

Burglar-resistant, impact-proof and load-bearing
As a solid drywall board, Rigips Habito has been verified as having burglar-resistant properties in standard constructions. Its compressive strength also makes walls highly impact-resistant. This extremely robust drywall board is up to 50 per cent more resilient than conventional plaster surfaces. Heavy loads can be attached to Rigips Habito without the need for dowels. All that is needed is a screwdriver and standard screws. A 12.5 mm-thick Rigips Habito board has a tensile strength of 30 kg per screw. With double-layer cladding, weights of up to 60 kg can be mounted.
