New fire protection guideline from Saint-Gobain
Piping systems – quick guide for planning and installation
Fires cause billions of euros in economic damage every year in Germany. Effective preventive structural fire protection helps safeguard both lives and property. A newly published fire protection guide brings together the expertise of four Saint-Gobain companies: ISOVER, RIGIPS, HES and Kaimann and describes safe solutions for planning and installing pipe systems. The document is now available for free download at www.saint-gobain.de/loesungen/hochbau/haus-und-gebaeudetechnik.

The new 64-page fire protection guide provides concrete solutions for the proper, MLAR-compliant routing of pipelines through fire-resistant building components and wooden beam ceilings, as well as encapsulation in mandatory corridors. Technical illustrations and clear tables present various insulation and partitioning options based on ISOVER, RIGIPS, HES, and Kaimann fire protection systems in a practical manner and show possible combinations of different products. The guide helps specialist planners and installers solve common fire protection interface problems on construction sites and ensures smooth construction processes.
First, fire protection management for non-combustible and combustible pipelines through lightweight partition walls, solid walls, and ceilings is described. On the other hand, it presents professional solutions and special constructions for routing through wooden beam ceilings up to F 90. Another chapter focuses on safe implementation options for pipelines in escape and rescue routes and includes a recommendation for the dimensions of encapsulating cold-running pipes.
Fire Protection “Hands-On” at FeuerTrutz 2021
Information on Saint-Gobain's fire protection solutions for technical insulation, as well as the new fire protection guide, can be found on the websites of the relevant Saint-Gobain companies. Those interested in learning more about the various solutions in person have the opportunity to do so on October 18 and 19, 2021. FeuerTrutz 2021, one of the first in-person events since the start of the pandemic, will open its doors at the Nuremberg Exhibition Center on these two days, naturally observing strict hygiene measures. ISOVER, HES, and Kaimann will use the international trade fair to present their practical insulation and partitioning systems in person.
