60 years of Eurogypsum

Gypsum has been used as a building material for thousands of years. Therefore, when discussing traditional and reliable building materials, gypsum is certainly one of them.

Today, there is an increasing demand for products made from natural, biologically safe materials that are easy to recycle. Consequently, modern drywall construction using gypsum and gypsum fibre products is one of the most forward-looking methods available.

To celebrate its 60th anniversary, Eurogypsum (the European Association of the Gypsum Industry) is presenting 60 flagship projects that demonstrate the unique potential of drywall construction. These include two double winners of the German Rigips Trophy, as well as the Saint-Gobain International Gypsum Trophy!

Quartier 23 – House in the City Park

A number of apartment buildings offering a high quality of life in green surroundings have been constructed on the site of a former barracks in the Hanseviertel district of Lüneburg. One of the central buildings, "Quartier 23 – House in the City Park", makes particularly harmonious use of the available building plot thanks to its sophisticated architecture. According to the designs of q:arc Architektur I Design, a unique structure was created with recessed floors, sloped facades, and angled roof lines. Coblenz Guesthouse – Montabaur Castle

Montabaur Castle is considered one of the most famous and magnificent conference and seminar venues in Germany. The newly constructed guesthouse, 'Coblenz', forms part of the building complex. Spread over two of its three floors, this reinforced concrete building offers 77 modern, design-oriented double rooms at 4-star level. The nearly elliptical floor plan substantially shapes the geometry of all the living and guest rooms, making a stay in the guesthouse a unique spatial experience. The high-quality interior finishing of the approximately 300 m² atrium and guest rooms has been recognised in both the German and International Trophy competitions.
