13th Rigips Trophy 2021 I 2023
Expert jury selects the winner
Following a pandemic-related "forced break", the time finally came again on 13 October 2022: the prestigious expert jury of the Rigips Trophy selected the winners of the thirteenth edition of the renowned drywall competition from around 60 submissions. The winners will be officially announced at a formal gala event in March 2023, but will remain secret until then.
This time, the expert jury of the 13th Rigips Trophy 2021 | 2023 convened in a "hybrid format": (from left) Univ. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Karsten Tichelmann, Dipl.-Ing. Peter Schneider, M.Sc. Ramona Jaron, Thomas Grüning, Dipl.-Wirt.-Ing. Ina Bruer, Dipl.-Ing. Gerhard Geske.
This year, the expert jury selected five winners across three categories: drywall, residential construction and non-residential construction. Additionally, the jurors recognised the exceptional contributions of two drywall companies by presenting them with special awards.
Exceptional projects thanks to exceptional achievements
The Rigips Trophy was contested by specialist companies that have recently completed extraordinary construction projects, demonstrating exceptional craftsmanship in the process. The jury's deliberations were exciting as they assessed all the entries based on technical and aesthetic criteria.
"Due to the pandemic, we were forced to give the Rigips Trophy, which is usually held every two years, an extra third-year break", explains Trophy coordinator Karin Melder. "It is all the more wonderful, then, that just as many of our clients and market partners participated in the competition as took part in the 12th Rigips Trophy. Seeing both many familiar faces and numerous companies participating in a Rigips Trophy for the first time shows us that this event has lost none of its appeal."
The three category winners in drywall, residential construction and non-residential construction will also have the opportunity to present themselves and their projects at the Saint-Gobain Gypsum International Trophy. This "world championship" of drywall construction is taking place in Lisbon at the end of April 2023.
